Our LifeGroups are currently on Summer Break.
They'll be starting up again in September.

Valley wants to be a church where people find true community. We want to do all we can to develop friendships and support networks that help us all to experience the joy and challenge of Christian relationships.  We encourage you to stretch and grow by joining a LifeGroup.

How Can I Join a LifeGroup
Our Community Life Pastor, Sheri Lynch, oversees our LifeGroups program.  If you would like to find out more about LifeGroups and get a complete list of our current LifeGroup locations and times, please contact him through our online contact form.

Why We Have Life Groups
Community is at the core of Christianity – it is a community that welcomes and redeems. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are told to take care of each other and those that have needs. We all have needs that need to be met and burdens we need to share. We all desire meaningful relationships and have the need to be loved. Valley wants to be a church with the kind of community that speaks to these needs and desires. LifeGroups exist for the primary purpose of sharing with and caring for those around us.

How Long LifeGroups Last
We want Valley LifeGroups to last long enough for significant relationships to form, and yet remain dynamic and flexible enough to welcome new people, allow people to experience other groups, and to provide for growth and expansion of our LifeGroups Ministry. Generally speaking, groups will re-form and re-group each year. This will help generate more community within the broader scope of the church.

When and Where LifeGroups Meet
We are strongly encouraging LifeGroups to meet on Sunday or Wednesday night. LifeGroups that need childcare should consider meeting at Valley on Wednesdays (educational programs for all ages are already available). We would prefer that all LifeGroups meet at the church building or in a LifeGroup Leader’s home.

People Who Care
When a LifeGroup becomes an effective and caring community, its members will be the first ones to be aware of special needs and concerns that arise within the members of their group. It is important then, for LifeGroups to act as liaisons between their members and the church’s Pastoral Leadership. We encourage and expect that these groups will be the ones activating the Prayer Network, participating in hospital visits, and providing meals for the members of their group. It would be impossible for Valley’s Pastoral Team to meet every need and issue that comes up, but when a LifeGroup moves swiftly to meet the needs within their group and informs the Pastoral Staff of its action, we will meet more needs and allow the Pastoral Staff to prioritize the concerns that require them the most.

Helping Us Make LifeGroups Better
Valley wants LifeGroups to be a great experience for all who participate. We will constantly strive to make things better, materials more accessible, and community more possible. We will constantly be re-evaluating, assessing, and discussing this ministry to make it better. We need the help of all involved to make this happen. LifeGroups are about the people of Valley Christian Church and meeting their needs. If we’re missing something or need to do something better we want to know about it. We depend on the leaders and members to give us that feedback. Our prayer is that you will find deeper, more true, and more real community because of LifeGroups.
