Hello Friends. Our annual Covenant Member Meetings are coming soon, and so I'm sending out this letter to all Valley Christian Church Covenant Members to make sure you know what's going on and that you're prepared to participate.
Covenant Member Meetings
We'll be having two different meeting times this year in order to give more people a chance to participate. Both meetings will cover the same things. Choose to attend the meeting time that works best for you.
The first meeting time is Wednesday evening, June 22, 7:00-8:30pm.
The second meeting time is Saturday morning, June 25, 9:00-10:30am.
The purpose of these meetings is to:
• Review the Valley Christian Church mission
• Report on our church's ministry programs and goals
• Introduce our Ministry Leaders
• Present our proposed operating budget for 2011-12
• Renew Member Covenants for 2011-12
• Provide ballots for members to vote on business items
• Give members an opportunity to comment and ask questions
Covenant Member Meeting Materials
will be available in the church office on Sunday, June 12 for those who would like to review the materials prior to the June 22 and June 25 meetings. They are also for those who are unable to attend either of the meetings.
These pre-meeting materials will include:
1) 2011 Annual Ministry Reports
2) 2011-12 Proposed Budget
3) 2010-11 Financial Reports
4) 2011-12 Sample Ballots
Member Renewal and Ballots
June 26 will be ballot Sunday. All ballots and member renewal forms must be returned by noon that day. You may turn in your ballot at either of the Covenant Member meetings (June 22 or 25) or bring them to the ballot kiosk on Sunday morning June 26. If you know you are not able to make it to one of the scheduled meetings and wish to submit and absentee ballot , please contact the church office to receive your official ballot and membership renewal form. You can mail in your forms or
drop them off at the church office any time before Sunday, June 26.
A Closing Word
Thanks to each and every one of you for all the ways you have joined in to do your part and give your best to make Valley a church that seeks God, shares in authentic community, and serves others. I look forward to seeing most if not all of you at our upcoming Covenant Member Meetings. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Your Brother and Servant,
Dave Burkum, Lead Pastor
