What to Expect in Our Nursery

Picture
You can expect a warm and helpful welcome! We are very glad to have you here at Valley Christian Church. It is our goal to provide a safe Christian atmosphere for your child.

Children under the age of 2 will be in our nursery area where they can play and be cared for. If your child is 2 years to 3.5 years old they will be placed in our Toddler room. In this room there is a lesson during both hours and also some relationship building time with toys and other activities.

Our nursery/toddler area is staffed by experienced and caring people, has secure check-in system, and provides a pager system to keep you alerted of any needs. We want you to feel comfortable about leaving your children in our care. If you have any questions, please ask and we will be glad to help you.

Keeping Your Child Safe

We want to ensure a safe environment for your precious child. We use a pager system to notify you about any special needs or concerns about your child. Upon checking in you will be given a pager with a specific number. This pager will work anywhere inside of our church building.

If you are needed, it will vibrate to alert you discreetly. We want you to be able to enjoy your worship experience, so we'll do our best to not page you at all. We also want you to be comfortable, knowing that if you are needed we will not hesitate to page you.

You will turn in your pager when you pick up your child. For your child's safety, only the parent with the pager may pick up your child.

If Your Child Cries

Your child may have difficulty being left in the nursery. Sometimes the best thing is to say good bye and leave. Most children will calm down within the first 5 minutes, but if your child does not, you will be paged. If this does not work, don't give up. You may need to stay for a few minutes and let the child become comfortable with the new room. Then make your way out. One important thing to remember when your child has trouble letting you go is to make sure that you pick them up on time. Some children get nervous when they are the last one in the room. We will work with you to make sure that the both you and your child have a good experience.

If you have further questions, don't hesitate to contact Jeff Collins, our Children and Family Ministry Pastor.
