World Outreach Ministry
The objective of the World Outreach Ministry is to help Valley support the cause of Christ around the world. We support international missions because because Jesus instructed us to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19-20), and because missionaries may be the only Jesus the people in foreign countries will see.
Missions We Support
Caribbean Evangelism, Inc. www.caribbeanevangelism.org Caribbean Evangelism shares God’s love and Word through many Christian churches and ministries on the island of Jamaica; including a radio program, medical clinics, and schools. Pray for: • Maintaining financing to allow them to continue the weekly radio broadcast as this vital medium allows them to reach all areas of the island. • Expanding the leadership training and evangelistic crusades in areas of the island where there are no Churches of Christ or where existing churches need strengthening. Praises for: • The new team of directors as this structure allows for increased viability. Casa de Niños www.warrenchurchofchrist.org/casapage Casa de Niños provides a Christian home for children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected. Through a family atmosphere the children learn what it means to love and to be loved. As well as reaching out to the children of Central Mexico, Casa de Niños has ministries that reach out to the inner city of San Luis Potosi, that proclaim the Gospel and share the love of Christ throughout Mexico, and that train students to become preachers and teachers of God’s Word. Pray for: • The financial support needed to keep the university students enrolled in college. • The short term workers who will be traveling to Casa this summer to help with VBS and repair projects. Praises for: • The opportunity the Casa college kids had to visit and worship in the states with family and partner churches. Feed My Starving Children www.fmsc.org Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s starving children; hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals formulated specially for starving children and the meals are shipped to more than 60 countries. Pray for: • Safety of the food being shipped to children around the world. • Protection of the distribution partners who live around the world and of FMSC staff as they travel to countries where the food is distributed. Praises for: • The thousands of volunteers who come to package food at FMSC’s packaging sites. MacLaurinCSF at the University of Minnesota www.MaclaurinCSF.org MacLaurinCSF bridges church and university in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, bringing theological resources to the university and academic resources to the church. Our goal is to strengthen Christian intellectual life in this region by creating public space for leaders in the academy and church to address enduring human questions together. • We Give Monthly Financial Support • We Serve by Collecting and Delivering Furniture for International Students – August • We Promote Awareness and We Pray for Christian Student Fellowship Rwanda http://jenkinsinrwanda.blogspot.com/ Dave and Jana Jenkins have helped plant Christ’s Church in Rwanda (CCR) and start a new school, KICS (Kigali International Community School) as an educational option for foreign and domestic families. KICS offers a faith-based curriculum to children from multicultural backgrounds. Pray for: • Guidance as CCR begins an assertive ministry in 2011 for the youth. • Guidance as CCR engages with the Rwanda government as they begin a process of De-institutionalizing the care of Orphans and Vulnerable Children. Praises for: • All God has done in just 5 years at CCR and KICS. South African Churches of Christ Mission www.zamission.org The goal of the South African Church of Christ Mission is to help the church in South Africa develop as an indigenous, self-supporting, self-perpetuating church. Michael & Caryl Stanley focus on teaching, preaching, and encouraging the churches of KwaZulu Natal. Pray for: • The start up of a day care center. • The security of the Umzumbe Bible Institute and the safety of Caryl, Michael, the staff and students. Praises for: • For the ongoing opportunities for Michael & Caryl to teach the love of Jesus and the message of hope. TCM www.tcmi.org TCM provides prayer support, Bibles, books, clothing, medicine, financial assistance, and training for Christians in Eastern Europe. TCM has a training center in Vienna, Austria, called Haus Edelweiss, that trains international Christian leaders. Church leaders come from Europe and Central Asia to attend leadership training conferences. Pray for: • For God's protection for Christians who are experiencing persecution. • For TCM students and graduates as they reach their peers with the Gospel message in Muslim countries. Praises for: • For the servant leadership the TCM volunteer workers provide, leaving a lasting impression on the students.
