![]() Dear Christian Friends, Thank you for your generosity this month! We are so grateful for your participation in transforming lives in Mexico. God has truly blessed us! As I stop to think about September many things come to mind: The kids are back in school! Many are in different schools due to graduations this summer! It’s great to see them working hard to excel for their future. Our young adults are making decisions about staying or leaving as they have turned 18 or finished Prepa (High School). Some have felt it is time to be out on their own and responsible for themselves and their future. Others have decided to stay and continue to study and grow inside the organization. It is a privilege to see them grow and develop! We have staff that is working hard with each child to help them become the person that God has designed them to be. Their desire is to prepare them for that day when they will grow up and make the decision to be on their own! I have been in contact with many of our alumni, and it is great to know that they are working hard to provide for themselves and their families. Three of our alumni had babies this month. Beautiful children that remind me that we are not only serving a child – but we are serving future children! What a privilege to see how God has broken the cycle and given these babies opportunities that their parent did not have. I hope that you know that your partnership continues to make a difference in the lives of many people. Thank you for sharing and giving! Sincerely, Steve Ross Executive Director Niños de Mexico ![]() Dear Christian Friends, Summer is always a busy time around our homes. The kids finish up with school around the 10th of July and are getting enrolled and ready to go back to school by the 13th of August. During that time, we try to get the kids to a Christian summer camp (69 of our kids participated this year) and take some time as a home to vacation together and enjoy God’s creation. Another important activity that involves the staff and kids in our homes along with all of the churches we are partnering with, is Vacation Bible School. We believe a week of VBS is a great way to impact the children in our communities with the Good News of the Gospel. This summer has been particularly productive! We have had 9 different VBS’ in churches we are sponsoring with over 1,000 kids being impacted!! The three congregations in the mountains of Puebla had 167 different kids, Mision San Vicente – 200+ different kids, Expansion Cristiana – Texcoco – 100+ different kids, Boyeros, Texcoco – 200+ different kids, Valle de Esperanza – Atizapan – 100+ different kids, La Mesa – Toluca – anticipating 200+ kids this week, Garabato, Queretaro – anticipating 100+ different kids. The other exciting part of the VBS’ is that many of our older children and many of our staff members participate as helpers, teachers and team leaders. At least 20 of our older children and at least 15 of our staff have led out in these different VBS’. Thank you for your generosity that is blessing MANY children here in Mexico. ![]() Dear Christian Friends, On June 6, 2018 we hosted an event on our campus with the Governor of the State of Mexico. He signed a bill into law for the state of Mexico that will help speed up the process of placing children with families in adoption and will also speed up the time that decisions are made to place children in our care. Niños was selected to host the event because of our pattern of helping children in family units. We feel very privileged to have received this "nod" from the government concerning how we care for the children that God has placed in our homes. Continue to pray with us for God's direction and wisdom as we accept kids and attempt to raise them to be productive citizens here in Mexico and to love the Lord! Sincerely, Steve Ross Executive Director Niños de Mexico Dear Christian Friends,
In 2004, Jorge Martinez moved his family to the mountains of Puebla and began services in the village of Chilapa. The area surrounding Chilapa was largely unchurched and there was often strong opposition to the gospel and threats against Jorge and his family. Since then, the work has expanded to 3 different villages. And, God’s Word has begun to change hearts and minds in these villages where Jorge is ministering. A few years ago we opened a work in the village of La Libertad and now there are approximately 30-40 people who attend services every week. The church was meeting in a space on the property of Jorge. Recently the church was able to buy its own piece of property and thanks to the generosity and hard work of the people from the congregations in the mountains and some of our STM groups, they were able to complete their own church building. A special thanks to Sheldon Church of Christ, Sheldon, WI and Compass Christian Church, Colleyville, TX for their groups who worked so hard to help build this new facility. A special thank you to Tomoka Christian Church for a special offering that helped us complete the facility and to Doris Hinch who has faithfully supported this ministry throughout the years. Below are a couple of photos of the new facility. May God continue to transform hearts and lives through the sharing of His Word in this place! Sincerely, Steve Ross Executive Director, Niños de Mexico ![]() Dear Christian Friends, Here we grow again! We are so excited to announce that we have grown by three this past week. The sisters Yoselin, Jimena, & Sarahi joined the Agape home. They were a little shy and apprehensive at first, but the older girls from the Apage home embraced them warmly and helped them feel welcome. We were also presented with three girls who will be coming to join our homes as soon as their paper work is finished. Please be in prayer for the children and their new families as they adjust. Pray that we are able to ease their fears and allow the love of Christ to shine through our actions. Sincerely, Steve Ross Executive Director Niños de Mexico ![]() Along with the faithful giving of people in the United States, many people and businesses in Mexico have begun to take an interest in the children who call Niños de Mexico their home. This is a great cause for joy! There is a new sense of responsibility among the Mexican people to care for children who have been orphaned, abandoned or abused and are in great need. This was certainly not the case in the past. Mexicans are demonstrating their concern and compassion to the children from their own country in a variety of ways. Financially, the extra support helps us expand the number of homes and ultimately allows us to care for more children who are in desperate circumstances. Here are some examples of how our children are being blessed by individuals and businesses here in Mexico:
Thank you for your faithful prayers, giving and participation in the work of Niños. Our prayer is that our children will have the opportunity to have a life, blessed by God, as they make Niños their home. May God continue to bless you and use you to accomplish His will here and around the world! In His service, Steve Ross P.S. In Mexico, Valentine's Day is called The Day of Love and Friendship. It is a fun day for the children! Dear Christian Friends,
Thank you for your support of the work of Niños de Mexico in 2017. Your support made a difference in the lives of many people this year:
Sincerely, Steve Ross Executive Director ![]() I praise God for you, and for how He has used you to bless the children of Niños de Mexico this year. Our families are preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus and all He did by coming to this earth. We celebrate His entrance into this world as a baby and God intervening to give us a new hope and a future. He had prepared long before to set us free from the power of sin and Satan through His Son. This year you have blessed 104 different children in our homes. You have helped them to see life through different lenses - lenses of hope and a future very different than they had before coming to Niños. I praise God that 25 kids have arrived into our homes since last December. It is great to see them adapting well in the families where they have been WELCOMED. As you prepare for Christmas, say a prayer for your brothers and sisters in Mexico who are growing in His grace and mercy through the homes and the churches with which Niños is partnering. May you and your family worship the Lord and give thanks for all that He has done through the birth of His Son. May God bless each of you along with your families. May He move in your hearts and minds in a special way during this holiday season.
