Dear Valley Christian Church,
Your regular monthly support and prayers are truly making a difference in the lives that the ministry is touching each day. Jose is doing a remarkable job with the maintenance of the facility and seeing that the mission doors are open to all who are truly in need. Jose is holding in home Bible studies, prayer visitation to neighbors in need of prayer and just a simple visit from a friend. Even though there are still some Covid restrictions in place in the city for the most part people are more accessible to having us into their homes and attending church on Sundays. With summer approaching VBS is on the horizon and camps will be held this year with limited attendance Late July a film crew from Indiana and Florida will be visiting the mission and making a video for a special event we have planned for October. Things are looking up for the ministry. With the van up and running we are able to have the children from the Vallado Children’s Home once again for church each week and for the afternoon. The remaining balance for paying the clutch repair to the van is $497.00. We are grateful for the two very special gifts that allowed us to pay for part of the repair. Any extra help in this area would be greatly appreciated as to not take away from the regular monthly needs. We truly thank you for your generous help! We are humbled and blessed! Jose David and Sheri Teaching by Faith
Teaching: Jose has been asked to teach at the Colegio Cristiano del Centro (Bible College) located in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, starting this August 2021 - May 2022, school year. I (David) taught there from 1993 to 2008. It was a blessing to serve students that come with the desire to learn and prepare for ministry. His responsibility (class) will beTeaching Hebrew History I and II. It is just a quick 15 minute drive from the mission, so it will not take away from his responsibilities of serving to the inner city. Even though the College does not pay for his services, it will give Jose the opportunity to share his passion for ministry and the Word. Faith: In last month's letter, we shared about a need for repaying the van repair (clutch). Update of Faith: Total bill was $854.00. To date we have paid $357.00. We have set up a payment plan to cover the rest. Thank you to two churches who have helped. We live by Faith, not by sight, but are also responsable to take care of all needs so we can best serve the community, children and adults that God has entrusted to us. Any help in this area of physical maintenance (van) would be greatly appreciated. Put "van repair" in the memo. We got tested again for Covid-19, since our tickets are booked for tomorrow. For those of you who haven't flown in awhile, we are required to have negative Covid-19 reports that are less than 3 days old when we fly. And yes - we finally all tested negative - hooray! The test has gotten progressively more painful. They stick a swab up your nose to get some goop for a sample. It used to tickle a bit, but now they do both nostrils, and stick the swab up so far and so long that we all either yelled or cried. But it was worth it! Please continue to pray. There are many new rules for international travel, and we want to make sure that we do everything right. Please also pray that we will have safe travel. Thank you so much for your prayers. God's timing is best. We're so excited, and we hope to see you when we get back! With great joy, Scott, Elina, Linus, Jane and Livy Dear Valley Family,
E and I both tested negative a little over a week ago! It was a Rapid Antigen Test, not acceptable for flying, but the docs said it is just as accurate. We haven't heard anything negative from the airline, and we're trying to be careful, and hoping we have some immunity, so that we can fly this Monday (early morning your time) to K (big city in this country), and Monday (late afternoon your time) toward the USA. The only other issue is that our Covid-19 tests have to have a QR code on them, so that the airport security can make sure our tests aren't fake or altered by accessing our tests on the hospital website. Unfortunately, no hospitals in this state have QR codes or know anything about them. The worst-case scenario with that is, we'd have to take another test in K. Expensive, unpleasant, but not a big deal. We welcome your prayers for testing negative, safe travels, and actually getting to travel! Feel free to share this. Blessings, The T Family |
