THE OPEN DOOR - FOOD PANTRY - SEPT 1, 2020

In 2019, our Mobile Lunchbox Program had its best year ever, serving around 3,000 meals directly to 5 neighborhoods. This year, thanks to you and our partners, we did even better. 10 times better! With your help, our volunteers served more than 38,000 summer meals to kids across Dakota County. Volunteers, with the support of staff and AmeriCorps members, made fresh and healthy meals available in 18 neighborhoods, 5 days a week across 3 school districts!

Not only did you help us feed more kids this summer, but helped ease the lives of families in the community. 97% of families shared with us that not only did the Mobile Lunchbox increase their access to fresh and healthy food, but also helped them spend less on food purchases and have the ability to put more money towards other essentials.

Many of you are asking if we will continue Mobile Lunchbox into the school year. We have been in conversation with our school district partners and stand ready to support meal deliveries if needed. The program is prepared to respond on short notice to any of the multiple scenarios which could unfold.
